Bike Trip II: STP - One Day or Two
The STP was a bit different this year as many of our traditional STP group weren't around or able to ride. A did the ride in one day this year, which can be summarized into three words: fast, pain, hurt. When riding in one day, you pack your bike a bit differently. Which means no camera. Not that we would have had time to take pictures. Doing the STP in one day was a success for us, as we kept our goal of 20.0mph all the way to Portland, and we didn't have any crashes, mechanical problems, or other trouble. But after 130 miles it really started to hurt as we tried to keep our speed up. And when we finally finished, there were high-fives, but the Day One finish area is a wastleland of tired bodies and cyclists crawling to cars to be taken directly to beds. Two-Day riders, on the other hand, look like this:
Although riding the STP is something I'm glad I've done, it wasn't nearly as much fun as driving with the WORLD'S BEST STP SUPPORT DRIVER! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Yeeeaaaaaaaahhhhhh!

(but this is after only 130 and PS, you forgot to mention this is my new riding buddy A and no, we didn't plan to match, it happened because great 2-day STP riders think alike - from T)
Camping in Vader wasn't the same, as there is no more pizza to be found. Tragic...
But waking up for Day Two you could see that people were still having fun:

Wish I could have been there with you all this year! Whenever we're back, let's do the RSVP baby! Or we could do both, back-to-back!
