Fun Friends in Prague

I know, I know... some of you have been waiting for this for a long time. Well, the girls finally boarded a bus to Denmark, and after two tries we got rid of our other guest, and now I have time to sit down and tell you all about it. Get comfortable...

On Wednesday, the 1st of March, we both went to the airport to meet our little sister C, but sadly she was delayed just enough so that only K could stay and welcome her.

After you arrive in Prague there are certain things that you absolutely must do right away. One of them is this: A photo-salute to the cycling stud brother! Wish you were here J!

It was great having the Svatra/Svagrova (Sister/Sister-in-law) in Prague. Another cold but beautiful night. We don't let below-freezing temperatures stop us from walking all over town.

On Thursday A took C around Prague and forced her to learn the public transportation system, so that she'd be able to get around on her own. Not even once did she send us in the wrong direction!

After just one day to overcome jet-lag the master was put to work! None of us have ever looked so good.

After a blissful few days with C, we were joined by J! Lookout, Prague!

And not only were we joined by J but also by a flurry of snow. Nothing like it to make Prague even more magical. We went to a local restaurant to welcome J and C in style and to introduce them to our friends.

Also present at the dinner were our friends I & T, who braved the heights and climbed up a hill for a nice view of Prague. Going up proved to be the easy part, as we slipped and slid our way down the hill. Pozor!

After hiking around we needed to refuel. One of us thought that a boar's haunch would do the trick, and I H-B can tell you that it wasn't all it was cracked up to be. After lunch we walked through the center of town. J taking a picture in front of Jan Hus.

On Sunday we went to perhaps the longest brunch of our lives. It was wonderful. Then out for more posing for pictures--I mean sightseeing... this time from the top of Wenceslas Square.

A warning to my brother-in-law: POZOR! I couldn't stop the sisters' tendency to be cute!

After resting at home for approximately 10 minutes, we went out again, this time headed to watch Slavia take on Pardubice in Czech Extraliga hockey. Hakovani! A good time was had by all, especially since there were penalty shots, overtime, and third-row seats.

Interesting... it appears that C and K aren't the only ones who can match outfits. Here T and C model matching sweaters.

Where are I & T? This way? No, this way? J spotted them first, after spinning circles looking for them in Wenceslas Square.

"This way! No! This way! Stop spinning me!"

I & T left early on Thursday, and when we woke up, Mother Nature had left us with a few centimeters of snow. Apparently their flight left on time, because the last time we talked to them was when we gave them directions to the airport.

The Charles Bridge at 6:45 am. Possibly the best time to walk the bridge. As you can tell, not very crowded.

We met with T so that she could introduce us to a Lebanese restaurant at the mall. J looks lonely. "This tastes great! But I don't feel so good..."

A quick visit to the Bell School gave C and J a chance to visit K's work.

Another Saturday in Prague! What souvenier will J choose for his dear mother?

It was J's last night in Prague, and he overcame his troubled stomach to venture out on the town. It only took a few tried to capture this shot:

Goodbye J! We're glad you came, and we'll miss you. Hey! Is that more snow falling? How beautiful! Snow welcomes J and puts on a show before he leaves...

As we took our final walk across the Vltava via the Charles Bridge, we were astounded by the beauty of the snow.

This goes out to all the moms! You know who you are... from A, K, C, and J!

It's never good when your suitcase functions as a snowplow. I think I captured the snowfall very nicely in this shot:

Boo hoo! J's gone. At least we have each other to hold in this blizzard!

BUZZZZZZZZ! What's that noise! J? What are you still here for??? How much snow does it take to shut down the Prague airport? About this much: (25cm or 10in)

OK. So we were graced with J for one more day. And look at how beautiful that day turned out to be! Thanks for the visit!

Now that J was really gone, C could get down the work. We went to the Kadernicky Servis supply store, but without a copy of the license, you couldn't buy the bleaching chemicals. But that's OK, because they have them at the drug store. And it was a nice day for criss-crossing Prague and shopping for new shoes!
