Holden Village in December

As you know from a September post, my parents live at a place called Holden Village. To ring in 2007, we made a trek up the mountains with friends Julie & Josh. First task - making it up Steven's Pass:

Then we hopped a boat and rode up Lake Chelan:

The bus was a little late coming down the mountain so we made ourselves busy by relaxing in a handmade snow chair:And designing a giant fortress to attack the bus with when it came down. Unfortunately, it was the snowplow that got us first. Despite our best efforts, we were no match.

Finally at the Village, we headed out for some beautiful winter snowshoeing.

On the final morning with J & J, we helped out in the kitchen and made bread:

But not to worry, new guests were to arrive within hours! Brothers united again:

We couldn't keep B out of the snow:

We made it to the National Wilderness Area. . . although we couldn't find the sign.

Alex shows off his stuff. . . . he hiked up to the top of Copper Basin with a "local" (for 3 hours) and snowboarded down (for 15 minutes). (Totally worth it!) ((I) (love) (parentheses))
